Hello
I’m Meera, storytelling is my passion and it is my mission to bring joy through drawings, stories and imagination. After graduating from Film school, specialised in Animation, Ive worked with Cartoon Network India, Warner Bros. for 10+ years as a Producer of animated content and entertained kids across the globe.
My Story
I grew up in the bustling city of Mumbai, born to architects, in a house full of folk stories and culture. Storytime with my grandmother was precious (she really had solid storytelling skills), and being encouraged to read picture books and YA books by my mother nurtured a deep love for stories and art early on. I could always be found drawing, painting, or working on some craft project (even to this day, I realise, as I’m editing this. Haha!).
That core interest eventually led me to film school, where I specialised in telling stories through the medium of animation, and then to my dream job at Warner Bros., working in children’s media at Cartoon Network and Pogo. I was telling stories for little ones across India and around the world, and I loved it. I got so good at it and did it for a decade!
Then came the most transformative chapter of my life so far: I became a mother. In the lockdown of postpartum life with my daughter, I began to see the world through her curious lens. I started drawing a lot again, this time with a new perspective. I began noticing the bigness of small things everywhere and felt a renewed fascination with the life around us. Wall-E’s (our cat’s) twitching tail. A shadow on the ceiling.
I decided to step away from the corporate world to absorb life as it was and to find my creative voice. I am now shifting gears into writing and illustrating children’s books. which has always been my dream.
I enjoy building stories about a world where the ordinary is honoured for what it truly is: extraordinary!
If you’re still reading, thank you for being here.
